Wilderness First Aid

Our Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is designed for outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, campers, scouts, guides, and anyone who ventures off the beaten path. When you're in the backcountry, access to emergency medical services may be delayed—or unavailable. This course teaches you how to respond to injuries and illnesses with confidence when professional help is far away.

Participants will learn how to assess and treat common wilderness medical emergencies, including fractures, sprains, hypothermia, heat illness, bites, stings, altitude sickness, and more. You'll also gain skills in wound care, splinting, bleeding control, patient movement, and improvised treatments using what’s available in the field. The course emphasizes hands-on training and realistic scenarios, helping you stay calm and make smart decisions under pressure.

Taught by experienced instructors with real-world wilderness and medical backgrounds, this course follows nationally recognized guidelines and is ideal for both beginners and those with prior first aid experience. Upon completion, participants receive a Wilderness First Aid certification, often required for backcountry jobs, outdoor leadership roles, and adventure programs.

Whether you're planning a weekend backpacking trip or a multi-day expedition, this course prepares you to take care of yourself and others when it matters most.
